How to get from Daxing Airport to Tianjin by Taxi

For the time being, Daxing airport taxis don’t offer fixed prices. However, you can expect that the estimated fare for the 130-km trip from Daxing airport to Tianjin city center is about 360 RMB (46€ / 50$) depending on the traffic conditions and the exact location of your drop-off point. Furthermore, you will have to pay an extra fee for the tolls while during the night shift, there is a 20% surcharge. The journey to Tianjin city center usually lasts around 90 minutes with light traffic.

How to get from Daxing Airport to Tianjin by Train

The construction of the new high-speed train line connecting Daxing airport to Tianjin has already started and is planned to be completed within the next 3 years (2022). The trains of the new line will travel up to 250km/h and will reach Tianjin West railway station in only 36 minutes.

However, currently, passengers have to combine 3 trains to get to Tianjin city center from Daxing airport. Hence, if your final destination is at Tianjin and you wish to travel by train, you will have to:

 

  • Take the intercity airport train from Daxing airport to Beijing West Railway Station, paying 24 RMB (3€ / 3.4$) for a one-way ticket. The trip duration is 20 minutes.
  • Consequently, take the airport subway to reach Beijing South Railway Station (unfortunately, there is no direct connection between Daxing airport and South Railway Station). In particular, you will have to take the metro line 7 to Caishikou Station and then change to Line 4 to Beijing South Railway Station (6 stops in total). The total journey including the train transfers should take approximately 30 minutes.
  • Lastly, once you get to Beijing South Railway Station, you can choose the itinerary which serves you best as you will find trains leaving to Tianjin Station, Tianjin West Station or even Tianjin South Station. The cost of the tickets varies from 88 RMB (11€ / 12$) to 94.5 RMB (12€ / 13$) while the route lasts from 30-45 minutes depending on your drop-off station.

How to get from Daxing Airport to Tianjin by Bus

Taking the Intercity Bus from Daxing airport to Tianjin is another choice. The journey takes just about 2.5h and you can either get off to the Tianjin Tongsha Coach Center bus station which is the main bus station of the city, or to Tianjin West Bus Station near Tianjin West Railway Station. One-way ticket costs 75 RMB (9.5€ / 10.5$).

How to get from Daxing Airport to Tianjin by Car

The new Beijing International airport is located approximately 130-km away from the city center of Tianjin. If you are travelling by car, you will find 3 available options leaving the Daxing airport behind you; you can combine highways G3 and G2501 and arrive at your destination in Tianjin in about 70 minutes, traversing a 104km distance or take the highway S30 and reach Tianjin, 135km away, in about 90 minutes. Lastly, if you decide to use the road 306 and then continue to Expressway S30, your journey will last 95 minutes under normal traffic conditions and you will have to cross only 92 km. However, you should keep in mind that you will have to pay tolls no matter the chosen route.

If you wish to get to Tianjin Cruise Port, you will have to take one of the 22 high-speed trains which leave daily from Beijing South Railway Station to Binhai Railway Station.
